The Ball-Chatham School District is excited to partner with Golden Apple Accelerators of Illinois, whose mission is to inspire, develop and support teacher and school leader excellence, especially in schools-of-need. The Golden Apple Accelerators Program provides a path to teaching for career-changers and college seniors who commit to living and teaching in targeted school districts, like Ball-Chatham, for four years after obtaining their teaching license.
A few benefits of the program include the ability of participants to:
obtain a teaching license in 15 months;
receive a value of up to $25,000 for education - the majority of which will be paid directly to the institution of higher learning;
complete a one-year residency and training program;
assistance with job placement, and much more!
We encourage our parents/guardians, substitute and paraprofessionals who have bachelor’s degrees in any subject area, and who have always thought that teaching would be a perfect career for them, to learn more on January 4, 3 p.m. at the District Office (address below). The presenter, Colin McLaughlin from Golden Apple Accelerators, will discuss details of the program and share how to apply.
Can’t make the presentation on the 4th? No problem! Email Supt. Dr. Lamon at blamon@bcsd5.org and tell her of your interest in the program.
Thank You
